Trash Services

Residents Inside City Limits 

As part of our continued beautification efforts, solid waste pick up service will begin on May 3, 2018! Republic, the City’s contracted provider of this service, will start delivering trash carts to the addresses which currently do not have service the week of April 23rd , with the first service day on Thursday, May 3rd.
 

Pick up days for residential collection is Thursday of each week with the exception of observed holiday weeks where the holiday falls on the regular service day or on a week day prior to the regular service day of Thursday. During those weeks service will be delayed by one day and completed on Friday. Observed holidays are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
 
Republic will bill current customers with trash cart service for services through April 30th and the charge will be placed on your monthly utility bills beginning on May 1st.


As with other utilities, this service will be billed by the City on a monthly basis versus quarterly with Republic, for those of you that currently have service. Any monies paid in advance to Republic for services after April 30th will be refunded to the customer.   This generally takes four to six weeks from the close date on the account to complete and will be refunded via the payment method used to make the payment by the customer. Residential customers that are in developments that are served by dumpster service will not be impacted by this change.

   

For your first pick up please remember the following:​​

  • Pick up will not start before 7:00 a.m.

  • Place your cart at least 4 feet from a mailbox or telephone pole

  • Do not place your cart under tree limbs or power lines

  • Place cart at least 5 feet from a parked car

  • Place cart within 2 feet of the roadway

  • Place cart at the street with the handle and wheels facing your house

  • If you have more than one cart, please place them at least 3 feet apart

  • Carts may be placed on the curb the day before pick up

  • Carts must be removed from the street by midnight on the day of service

Republic Services in cooperation with the City of Adairsville is the City’s trash service provider. Please call Customer Service  to set up residential trash service: 

Cost for residential service is $28.50 per quarter paid at the time account is set up.  This includes: 1-95 gallon trash container with once a week service.
